Paris Day #1

We arrived in Paris at around 8:00 am Paris time after a eight hour plane ride. The plane ride went pretty good considering it was my first in 28 years. Our feet hit the ground running once we got there. First check into our hotel and drop off luggage. Once that was out of the way we headed to get on a tour bus to check out the city. I saw the Eiffel Tower for the first time on the bus. It just takes your breath away it's so surreal. Once we got off the tour bus, we headed to the metro which is the subway under Paris and headed to the Catacombs. The Catacombs were created at the end of the 18th century. It's actually a large underground tomb where cemeteries were relocated to due to overcrowding due to disease. It definitely was not for the sqweemish. We ended our first day with a wonderful dinner at a outside cafe. By this time we had been up for over 24 hours and I was fading fast. I think I fell asleep before my head hit the pillow. Tomorrow will be an even busier day.

Bon Soir

  1. The pictures are gorgeous!! Sounds like a fun first day. Can't wait to hear more!

  2. all I can say is WOW! I am sooooo jealous. Would love to be able to see Europe someday. The Eiffel Tower looks so amazing and the catacombs must have been so interesting.
