Once we were done at the Opera House we headed back to the Metro and headed to Montmartre and Sacre Coeur. Montmartre is an adorable town high on a hill overlooking the city and on the top of the hill is Sacre Coeur. Walked up lots and lots of stairs. Thought I was going to have a heart attack. In Montmarte there are all sorts of street performers and mimes. Once you make your way into the little town there are lots of street artists, bistro's, and adorable shops.
We ended the day with a trip to the Eiffel Tower to see it all lite up at night. Amazing! Everyone is out and about everywhere. Laying on the lawn near the fountains, walking, or sitting down by the river. The Eiffel Tower twinkles every hour and everyone cheers and yells. We decided to walk back to our hotel. They said it was only about a 20 minute walk. Well, 45 minutes later we finally arrived back. My back and feet were killing me, but it was sooooo worth it. What a wonderful day we had.

ReplyDeleteI love the photos~ I will have to show them to my daughter~ she was in Paris 3 years ago~ she misses it so~ Last time I was in paris was over 30 years agao~ I don't remember enough to miss it. Sounds like you had a fabulous time.Congrats to your Daughter and Future Son-in-law.
